I've Been Away Awhile

It has been quite a while since my last post. The world has been changing dramatically and not for the better. We have a major oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico south of Louisiana, the economy threatening to go belly up, an on-going invasion of illegal aliens that is threating to bankrupt the country and the North Koreans threatening "All Out War". Are you prayed up yet? If not, I can't think of a much better time to be getting right with God. What are you waiting for?

2007 Beginning To Look Like A Bad Moon Arising

Things don't appear to be looking too good for world history in the coming year.  Have you been following the news lately?  North Korea and Iran are both claiming to be nuclear powers and threatening to set off World War III, Syria, Iran, Hezbolla and Hamas are all planning to wipe Israel off the map, with Russia and China both making deals with the Islamist to provide nuclear fuel, build up their oil infrastructure and supply them with weapons.  It sounds like the Gog and Maggog war predicted by Ezekiel is right around the corner.

Over here, the One World Order folks are trying to join the U.S., Canada and Mexico into a North American Union which threatens to wipe out U.S. soverenty while the our government pushes a National ID program on us that people are afraid is a precursor to the mark of the beast.  It's like the Book of Revelations is starting to play out before our eyes.  I hope everyone out there is prayed up!

Merry Christmas 2006

May the Lord God, Jesus Christ bless you with every joy and happiness and protect you and yours now and through the coming years. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Doesn't anyone know right from wrong anymore?

I thought I had heard everything, but today I heard about an unwed Virginia woman, who was already raising two children, who gave herself what is being called a "self-administered" late term abortion by shooting the child in her womb with a gun as she was going into labor. The woman drove to a secluded spot, shot herself from side to side through the stomach thus splattering her baby's brains across the dash of her car, then gave police a story that she had been attacked by someone else. Upon investigation, the woman's story was proved to be false. She was later arrested and charged with performing a late-term abortion in a state where it is legally prohibited. This was a full term baby starting the process of natural child birth. That's murder in anyone else's book. The wording of the Virginia law made it illegal for "ANYONE" to procure or perform a late-term abortion. The judge ruled that "ANYONE" did not specifically include the mother. He dropped the charges and turned her loose to go back and continue to raise two other children.

What do you do with judges that not only legislate from the bench by declaring every law they don't like unconstitutional but also decide to simply ignore the meaning of words in the law that they can't flat out throw out. Evil and immorality are running rampant in this country and it seems that no one is willing to punish these corrupt individuals or hold them to account. We've had a President who can't figure out what the meaning of "is" is. We have journalists and politicians who are willing to believe any verifiable lie that comes from the mouth of a Palestinian Authority or Hamas politician. Now we have a judge who thinks there are excluded persons from a law that applies to ANYONE.

Islam Religion of Peace?

Here we go again. Those peaceful followers of Mohammad have just found someone else to be offended with and are calling for the Pope to be murdered to atone for his sin of quoting someone who spoke truth. The followers of the religion of peace are proving the Pope's point by reacting with threats and violence. Why all the fuss? Why do these people feel they have to defend their god and prophets with such vigor? The true God of Abraham, Issac, and Israel has proved in the past that He is perfectly capable of defending Himself and those under His protection. He has also warned His followers through the writings of the Apostle Paul not to take vengence into their own hands with the words "Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will {repay}, saith the Lord" (Romans 12:19). Where is it written, you might ask? Why, in the Book of Deuteronomy in Chapter 32, verses 35 through 43. Its one of the Books of the Law or Torah that God gave to Moses shortly after God had wiped out the entire Egyptian army at the parting of the sea.

And just why would God not want His followers taking vengence on everyone that offends them in their religion? Because God is looking for a people that will love Him for who He is out of their own free will. If someone is forced into submission, that is not love, it is submission out of fear. It is of no value to God to have a bunch of robots saying the words "I love you" and praying to Him because someone has put a gun to their head or a sword to their throat. For it to have any meaning to the receiving party, the love must be given freely. Obedience to God's laws and His ways flow from the love and respect a person has for Him. It comes when a person comes to an understanding of God and learns about the things God has done for them. That kind of understanding requires a teacher or preacher not a jihadist or terrorist. Those who are coersed may obey out of fear but on the inside they are just as rebelious and conflicted as ever. They will rebel and go back to their old ways as soon as their keeper's back is turned. There would be no real peace between them and the Lord.

Jesus, known to the Muslim world as Isa, was a True Prophet when He said, "These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me. But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you. (John 16:1-4) Jesus knew that times would come when people trying to follow His ways would be put to the sword by those who thought they were doing God a favor. It would seem that they are mistaken.

Dealing with the Changes

This is my first post in this new blog. Quite a few things have changed since my last post over a year ago. We moved from our old house only months before Hurricane Katrina roared into Louisiana and Mississippi. Our old house went 8 to 10 feet underwater. Our new home stayed high and dry. We didn't lose a shingle and no trees hit the building. Praise God! I felt terrible when we had to move, but Lord am I grateful now. I guess its just one more example of how all things work for the good for those who love the Lord.
